Clerkship Chair and Press Secretary
Charlotte Newport is Clerkship Chair and Press Secretary for the Texas Federalist Society. In addition, she is an articles editor for the Texas Review of Law & Politics.
She spent her 1L summer as a judicial intern to Judge David Morales of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and will join the Austin office of Kirkland & Ellis for her 2L summer, where she plans to practice litigation. She will clerk on the Ninth Circuit and the Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Ms. Newport is originally from Baytown, Texas. Before law school, she earned her B.A. in History from Augustana College. Outside of law school, she enjoys water polo, baking, and trying coffee shops around Austin.
